On September 1, 1939, Hitler set the world on fire, starting with Poland.
The 81th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II is passing. The war also started in my city.

The first photo shows the same place as in the photo above, it was taken on 31.08.2019. It is also the same place as in the archive photographs next door.
I would like to say here that basically all these archival photos were taken in one square, now it is named after Marshal Józef Piłsudski. Below are the next ones.

Formerly - the Church of Augustine-Jesuit-God-tombs in Rawa Mazowiecka. 1928 year.
Now - Parish Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Maryin Rawa Mazowiecka. Marshal Józef Piłsudski Square.
The same square in September 1939. On the last photo 1942, Hungarian soldiers in Rawa Mazowiecka.

... and now. The City Hall is located here.
... and this is Primary School No. 1 named after Tadeusz Kościuszko, this is where I started my education a long time ago, but long after the Germans were here.

In June 2011, the historic mill burned down, set on fire by two children.
Middle and last photo from the Dziennik Łódzki newspaper.
The city has the ruins of an ancient castle of Mazovian princes, whose completion is dated at the end of the fourteenth century. In 1958, a powerful hurricane almost destroyed the tower's reconstruction.
It remains in this form until today.
And finally, a bird's eye view of my place where I live. In the distance, a reservoir on the Rawka river.

I would like to sincerely thank everyone who wanted to stay in my city for a moment and I wish everyone, wherever they are, never to experience the horrors of war. I was it lucky. (So far).
I am very sorry for the quality of my contemporary photos, but I took them in a hurry, with my old but beloved telephone.
